DG RDA Affirms Strong Partnership with Rawalpindi’s Business Community

In a groundbreaking announcement, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, Director General of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA DG), declared unwavering support for Rawalpindi’s business community, affirming their crucial role in the nation’s economic backbone. The statement was made during his address at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Summit.

The summit, attended by prominent figures including ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, former ICCI President Sheikh Amir-ul-Haq, Senior Vice President ICCI Fad Wajid, Vice President ICCI Azhar Islam Zafer, and Executive Committee Member Malik Islam Khokhar, served as a platform for the RDA DG to elucidate its commitment to the development of Rawalpindi.

Jappa, in his address, shed light on several development projects, including the Ring Road, Kutchery Chowk Project, Signal-Free Corridor, Ammar Chowk Flyover, and Trunk Sewer Line. He highlighted the significance of the Ring Road, stating that it would play a pivotal role in reducing congestion in the city, particularly with the establishment of an Industrial Estate along its southwestern direction.

The RDA DG emphasized the creation of special economic zones along the Ring Road, contributing to the city’s progress and development through innovative town planning methods. Jappa stated that a long-term policy had been adopted to address encroachments and ensure sustainable development.

Regarding the support to the business community, Jappa assured that RDA DG would collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate development projects and provide necessary approvals and designs within a specified timeframe. He revealed that RDA DG’s One Window Operation Center had been established to cater to the needs of the general public and the business community, addressing issues related to project approvals, changes in land use, and the relocation of RIT schemes.

Jappa asserted that RDA DG’s business-friendly initiatives were accelerating development projects, and further improvements were underway. He underscored the significance of the business community in the national economy, describing them as the backbone of the country’s financial structure.

In conclusion, Jappa announced that the RDA DG would soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICCI, enabling the general public and the business community to submit their requests for building designs through ICCI. The Commissioner of ICCI would collect the design proposals, and RDA DG’s One Window Operation would expedite the necessary approvals.

This strategic partnership aims to streamline the development process, fostering economic growth and ensuring a conducive environment for businesses in Rawalpindi.
