Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council Attracts Record Foreign Investment

ISLAMABAD – The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has successfully attracted over $2 billion in foreign investment, marking a significant boost to Pakistan’s economy.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry highlighted SIFC’s role in removing bureaucratic hurdles that previously discouraged international investors. Speaking during the National Assembly’s question hour, he emphasized that the council was established to eliminate red tape and simplify investment procedures.

Dr. Chaudhry noted that Pakistan’s economic indicators are improving, with efforts underway to streamline investment processes through automation. He pointed out that Pakistan’s bureaucratic system previously required 21 NOCs for setting up a petrol pump, whereas Indonesia only requires one, underscoring the need for efficiency.

Additionally, he addressed regional security concerns, stating that Indian proxies in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faced strong resistance, prompting acts of aggression from India.

The government remains committed to economic reform, foreign investment, and institutional modernization, ensuring long-term growth and stability.
