ISLAMABAD – Pakistan is actively inviting Azerbaijani investors to explore opportunities in key sectors, reinforcing a growing economic partnership between the two nations.
During the II International Agrarian Innovation Forum in Baku, Pakistan’s Minister of Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani emphasized Pakistan’s positive economic trajectory, citing increased foreign reserves, reduced inflation, and lower energy prices. He highlighted the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), a single-window system designed to streamline investment procedures.
Recent agreements between Pakistan and Azerbaijan mark a shift from traditional diplomacy to economic collaboration, with a commitment to boost bilateral investments to $2 billion. A key development includes an MoU between Azerbaijan’s SOCAR and Pakistan’s Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO), focusing on the Machike Thallian Tarujabba White Oil Pipeline Project to enhance Pakistan’s energy security.
Beyond energy, tourism and education are emerging as long-term investment sectors, fostering cultural exchange and academic cooperation. The agreements aim to strengthen people-to-people ties, opening new avenues for students, professionals, and investors.
This initiative reflects Pakistan’s commitment to economic growth, foreign investment, and regional cooperation, reinforcing its position as an attractive investment destination.
