ISLAMABAD – In a strategic move to enhance Pakistan’s trade diplomacy and economic standing, the government has appointed 28 new Trade and Investment Officers (TIOs). ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi praised the merit-based selection process, involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and the Board of Investment. He emphasized the pivotal role of these officers in reshaping Pakistan’s global image and fostering partnerships with international chambers of commerce, retail chains, and multinational corporations.

The TIOs are tasked with promoting both traditional and non-traditional exports, driving overseas employment, and leveraging remittances as vital economic assets. Qureshi highlighted the importance of economic diplomacy in today’s global landscape, urging the officers to embrace creativity and bold thinking in their roles.

This initiative underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its global economic footprint and fostering sustainable growth.
