MUSCAT – Pakistan and Oman have agreed to activate the Joint Business Council (JBC) to foster deeper economic cooperation and strengthen trade ties. This announcement came during a meeting between Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Chairman Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas.
The meeting, followed by an Iftar dinner hosted by Al Rawas, also included a B2B networking session organized by the Embassy of Pakistan. The event brought together business delegates from both nations to explore trade opportunities and enhance market connectivity.
Minister Jam Kamal Khan emphasized the need to overcome logistical and communication challenges to significantly boost trade volume between the two countries. Chairman Faisal Al Rawas expressed his full support, encouraging Pakistani businesses to establish operations in Oman and utilize its welcoming investment climate.
During his visit, the commerce minister also toured the Invest Oman Lounge, a platform designed to showcase Oman’s investment opportunities and streamline processes for foreign direct investment. Khan praised the efficient structure of the lounge, noting its potential to align with Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for improved bilateral investment.
This renewed collaboration aims to expand business-to-business linkages, strengthen institutional ties, and unlock new avenues for economic growth.
