To curb the proliferation of illegal housing schemes, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has announced the formation of a dedicated task force. The Director General (DG) of RDA, Kinza Murtaza, asserted that stringent measures would be employed to tackle violators of housing regulations, ensuring compliance with the law.

The forthcoming task force will spearhead a comprehensive operation against illegal housing schemes. Its primary objective is to dismantle unauthorized projects that exploit and mislead citizens. Addressing citizens’ concerns, a redressal committee will be established to provide a platform for grievances. Prompt action will be taken on complaints, emphasizing citizen engagement in the regulatory process.

RDA has advised citizens to refrain from investing in illegal housing schemes and utilize the RDA website to verify the status of housing projects. Moreover, strict directives have been issued to halt all development activities, advertisements, and events associated with illegal schemes.

Non-compliance will face severe repercussions under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021. RDA underscores its commitment to upholding regulatory standards and safeguarding public interests.
