CDA to Construct a Modern Library in Islamabad

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, affirmed on Tuesday that the upcoming modern library in the federal capital will be developed in accordance with international standards, with provisions for an e-library.

Chairing a meeting of the Islamabad Development Working Party attended by representatives from various government departments, Muhammad Ali underscored the commitment to elevate the quality of infrastructure in Islamabad. The meeting witnessed the presentation of 24 development projects, including 17 from the Local Government, four from Islamabad Police, two from the Agriculture Department, and one from the Libraries Department.

Muhammad Ali emphasized the importance of integrating Geographic Information System (GIS) into all projects and instructed the formation of committees comprising residents in areas where development projects are planned.

Furthermore, he stressed the need for thorough environmental assessments for all projects, with a mandatory inclusion of a tree plantation component of up to two percent in each project. The initiative reflects the CDA’s dedication to modernizing infrastructure and promoting sustainable development practices in the federal capital.
