Kazakhstan Offers Lucrative Investment Opportunities for Pakistan

KARACHI – Economic strategists highlight Kazakhstan’s growing appeal for foreign investors, urging Pakistani businesses to explore opportunities in manufacturing, textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, mining, oil and gas, and construction.

Under President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan has introduced strong investment guarantees and incentives, making it a promising destination for Pakistani entrepreneurs. Experts recommend forming a Joint Pak-Kazakh Chamber of Commerce, finalizing Preferential Trade Agreements (PTA) and Free Trade Agreements (FTA), and leveraging Kazakhstan’s AI and IT leadership in Central Asia to enhance bilateral trade.

Recent Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the two nations aim to boost regional connectivity, industrialization, and access to the Eurasian Middle Corridor. Proposed initiatives include a joint investment company, an investment bank, and extending the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway link to Pakistan to facilitate trade.

Pakistan’s National Logistics Corporation (NLC), Trade Development Authority (TDAP), and Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) are expected to play a crucial role in implementing these projects. Experts emphasize the importance of alternative trade corridors, such as the Trans-Afghan Multimodal Transport Corridor (TMTC) and the Middle Corridor, to strengthen economic ties.

This collaboration reflects a strategic shift in Pak-Kazakh relations, fostering joint ventures in transport, industrial cooperation, green technologies, and textiles, while enhancing bilateral trade and connectivity.
