ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched an ambitious plan to tackle Islamabad’s traffic congestion and enhance urban mobility.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that improving transport facilities is a top priority, with new roads, underpasses, and parking plazas under development. The initiative also includes beautification projects, such as planting eco-friendly trees and upgrading major highways like Margalla Road, Expressway, Club Road, and Faisal Avenue.
Randhawa reviewed parking arrangements at the Pakistan Secretariat, ensuring better facilities for employees and visitors. He also directed authorities to enhance lane markings, footpaths, and green belts, while modern lighting and urban forest projects aim to reduce pollution.
Additionally, Islamabad’s parks and roundabouts are being upgraded with seasonal flowers, decorative planters, and wooden signboards, reflecting the city’s commitment to sustainability and aesthetics.
This initiative is expected to boost tourism, improve traffic flow, and elevate Islamabad’s status as one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
