ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a major shift towards sustainable advertising, phasing out plastic billboards and banners in favor of modern digital screens.
During a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, officials approved the installation of digital streamers on major roads, metro stations, and bus stops. The initiative aims to cut costs, reduce environmental waste, and enhance urban aesthetics.
Randhawa emphasized that plastic panaflex and banners will be gradually removed, making Islamabad cleaner and more visually appealing. The plan includes:
- 3D digital ads on highways and key locations
- Screens at metro and electric bus stations for public messaging
- Strict fines for wall chalking violations
- 24/7 monitoring of flyovers and underpasses
The Disaster Management Authority (DMA) has been directed to aggressively enforce the new system, ensuring Islamabad remains one of the world’s most beautiful capitals.
This initiative reflects Islamabad’s commitment to sustainability, urban modernization, and eco-friendly development.
