Islamabad Parks to Get Major Upgrade Under CDA’s Beautification Project

ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a comprehensive plan to enhance parks across Islamabad, aiming to improve public spaces and city infrastructure.

Under the initiative, every sector’s park will undergo upgrades, including new walking tracks, modern lighting systems, upgraded children’s play areas, and improved horticultural features. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized the importance of urban beautification, directing teams to ensure permanent and attractive lighting on major roads like Club Road, Jinnah Avenue, and the Expressway.

The project also includes traffic congestion solutions, with new roads, underpasses, and parking plazas under development. Key highways such as Margalla Road, Expressway, Club Road, Park Road, and Faisal Avenue will receive lane markings, footpath rehabilitation, and green belt improvements.

Additionally, Islamabad’s urban forestry and megaforest projects aim to reduce pollution and promote sustainability. Seasonal flowers, decorative planters, and wooden signboards will enhance the city’s aesthetics, while efficient sprinkler systems will maintain greenery during dry spells.

This initiative is expected to boost tourism, improve environmental sustainability, and elevate Islamabad’s status as a model city.
