ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched an ambitious beautification project to transform Islamabad into one of the world’s most picturesque cities.
Under the leadership of Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the initiative focuses on enhancing major highways, roundabouts, parks, and green spaces. Five key highways, including the Expressway and Margalla Road, have been prioritized for upgrades, featuring lane markings, footpath repairs, and modern lighting. Seasonal flowers, eco-friendly trees, and natural boulders will add aesthetic appeal, while urban forest projects aim to reduce pollution.
The CDA is also restoring 23 water fountains and upgrading parks across all sectors with walking tracks, swings, and horticultural enhancements. Citizens have praised the use of wooden signboards and planters, reflecting the authority’s commitment to quality and innovation.
This initiative is expected to boost tourism, create a sustainable environment, and enhance the city’s overall charm.
