Illegal Housing Schemes in Taxila

The  Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has launched an extensive operation against illegal housing schemes in Taxila, following directives from the Divisional Intelligence Committee. The RDA’s Task Force has intensified its ongoing efforts to curb unauthorized developments.

An RDA spokesperson confirmed that the Enforcement Squad has targeted eight illegal housing schemes in the Mouzas of Lab Thatho, Niko, Bhoti Pind, Buddu, Gari Afghana, and Bajar, all within Tehsil Taxila, District Rawalpindi. The squad sealed and demolished site offices and land subdivisions associated with these schemes.

This operation was executed under the orders of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Muhammad Abdul Aamir Khattak, Director General RDA, the Additional DG RDA, the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, and the City Police Officer of Rawalpindi.

The spokesperson emphasized that despite prior warnings to halt illegal advertisements, booking of plots, and development activities, the owners of these schemes continued their operations in violation of established rules.

Director General RDA stated that the crackdown, guided by the Commissioner, would persist to prevent fraud and protect citizens from exploitation. She urged citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes and to check the status of housing societies on the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk).

The operation saw active participation from Muhammad Usman Bajwa, Assistant Director Building Control RDA/In-charge Enforcement Squad, Mehwish Naseem, Assistant Director Planning RDA, alongside RDA Scheme/Building Inspectors, and other team members.
