Illegal Billboards and Temporary Structures

Under the directives of Director General RDA Kinza Murtaza, the Enforcement Squad RDA has taken action against Bahria Town Pvt Ltd for the unauthorized conversion of green belts and roads into commercial plots in Bahria Business District, violating the approved layout plan (LOP) of Bahria Town Phase VIII in Mouza Gali and Mouza Shahpur, Rawalpindi.

According to an RDA spokesperson, billboards, temporary structures, marina IT tower hoardings, and sewer holes were demolished in the operation. This crackdown is part of RDA’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal development and housing schemes in accordance with the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2021.

The spokesperson highlighted that Bahria Town was also found displaying advertisements along Soan River without proper authorization. The operation was conducted with the assistance of the police from the concerned police station Rawat.

Director General RDA Kinza Murtaza has instructed the MP&TE Directorate RDA to continue strict actions against encroachments and unauthorized constructions without any bias. The public is urged to cooperate by removing encroachments to prevent further losses. RDA advises citizens to consult with them before investing in any projects to avoid legal complications.
