The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), under the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General Liaquat Ali Chatta, has taken stringent action against the owner of an unapproved housing scheme, Hawk’s Melbourne. Sardar Haider Ali, the scheme’s proprietor, has been issued a show-cause notice for allegedly engaging in illegal marketing practices.
Hawk’s Melbourne Housing Society
According to an RDA spokesperson, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of RDA discovered that Hawk’s Melbourne, located at Bagga Sheikhan, was being promoted through unauthorized channels, particularly on social media platforms. The housing scheme was found to be advertised by ZA Investment using the RDA-approved logo, a clear violation of regulatory protocols.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Director General has strongly advised citizens against investing in unapproved and illegal housing schemes. He highlighted that sponsors are prohibited from advertising or selling plots or housing units through any media without prior approval from the Authority.
The MP&TE Directorate of RDA has issued a show-cause notice to the owner of Hawk’s Melbourne, instructing the immediate cessation of all advertising and publicity through media channels, along with the halt of any sale or purchase of plots associated with the scheme. Failure to comply with these directives will result in legal actions initiated against the housing scheme under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021.
The Director General has further directed the MP&TE Directorate to take strict actions against illegal advertisements and marketing efforts associated with unapproved housing schemes. This crackdown aims to maintain the integrity of the real estate sector in Rawalpindi and protect potential investors from unauthorized and potentially fraudulent ventures.
RDA’s Advice to the Public
Residents and potential investors are urged to remain vigilant and verify the approval status of housing schemes through official channels before making any investments. The RDA is committed to ensuring that all housing projects comply with regulatory standards to safeguard the interests of the public and maintain the city’s planned development.
