EU-Pakistan Business Forum Postponed Amid Cross-Border Developments

ISLAMABAD – The High-Level EU-Pakistan Business Forum 2025, originally scheduled for May 14–15, has been postponed due to recent cross-border developments. Organizers emphasized that the delay aims to ensure full participation of key stakeholders and maintain the high standard of engagement expected at the event.

Despite the postponement, the forum remains a landmark initiative, celebrating 60 years of EU-Pakistan diplomatic and economic ties. The event, supported by the EU, its Member States, and the Government of Pakistan, is designed to facilitate high-level dialogue, empower partnerships, and unlock business opportunities.

The forum will highlight Pakistan’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+), which provides preferential access to the EU market, and introduce the EU Global Gateway strategy and European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus (EFSD+) as key investment tools.

Additionally, the event will mark the launch of the EU-Pakistan Business Network, a platform aimed at strengthening business cooperation and advocating for an improved investment climate.

Pakistan remains a strategic trade partner for the EU, with bilateral trade reaching €11.87 billion in 2023. The forum will provide networking opportunities for businesses in agribusiness, IT, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and green infrastructure, fostering collaboration between European and Pakistani enterprises.

New dates for the forum will be announced soon, ensuring that stakeholders can fully engage in discussions on trade, investment, and economic development.
