CDA to Introduce Electric Bikes to Combat Pollution

Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, has announced significant initiatives to transform Islamabad into a world-class city, focusing on environmental sustainability. During a pivotal meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters on Friday, Naqvi outlined plans to reduce pollution and enhance public transportation with the introduction of electric bikes.

In a bid to lower environmental pollution, the Minister has directed the CDA to exclusively purchase electric bikes in the future.

Additionally, eco-friendly electric buses will be introduced for the citizens of Islamabad. Naqvi has also imposed a ban on the purchase of conventional motorcycles, further emphasizing the city’s commitment to sustainability.

These measures are part of a broader strategy to modernize Islamabad’s infrastructure and public services, making it a model city for environmental responsibility.
