Crackdown on Illegal Housing Schemes

The task force established to enforce a crackdown on illegal housing schemes, under the directives of the Divisional Intelligence Committee, has ramped up its operations. The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) spokesman reported that the RDA Enforcement Squad targeted four illegal schemes in Mouza Bagga Sheikhan, Gurha Bertha, and Main Kallar Syedan Road in Rawat.

During the operation, site offices of these illegal housing schemes were sealed, and containers, boundary walls, and other infrastructure were demolished. The operation was supervised by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak, along with the Director General RDA, the Additional DG RDA, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, and the City Police Officer Rawalpindi.

Following the directives of DG RDA Kinza Murtaza, the crackdown on illegal housing societies will persist, with strict actions against rule violators. Citizens are advised not to invest in illegal schemes and to verify the status of housing societies on the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk).

Despite prior warnings, some owners continued illegal advertisements, bookings, and development work. The joint operation team included officials from the RDA, Police Station Rawat, and representatives from the District Administration. Key participants included Muhammad Usman Bajwa, Assistant Director Building Control RDA/Incharge Enforcement Squad, Shiza Butt, Assistant Director Planning RDA, and other RDA inspectors.
