The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, recently inaugurated the first-ever Costa Coffee shop in Islamabad, marking the renowned UK brand’s third venture into Pakistan after Lahore and Karachi.

Visitors to the grand opening were treated to complimentary cups of richly brewed coffee, accompanied by a delightful array of brownies, cakes, and cookies. Speaking to the media amidst the inaugural event, High Commissioner Marriott expressed her delight at being part of the momentous occasion.
“I am delighted to be here at the opening of Costa Coffee, the first in Islamabad and third in Lahore; it is a British brand, the first of its branch was opened 40 years ago in the UK; Costa has two and a half thousand branches in the UK, 59 of which are run by our friends in Gerrys,” said Marriott, who donned the cafe’s distinctive mufflers and sat in front of the brand’s illuminated concrete logo.
Highlighting the rich history of Costa Coffee in the UK, she emphasized that the brand has been serving its signature blends for four decades and currently boasts two and a half thousand branches across the United Kingdom, with 59 operated by their partners in Gerrys.
“I just had a great cup of coffee and some wonderful chocolate brownies,” she added, sharing her firsthand experience of the cafe’s offerings.
After officially cutting the ribbon, High Commissioner Marriott took a stroll through the newly opened coffee shop, engaging with the staff and commending the franchise’s interior design and the exceptional service provided by the employees.
