Following directives from the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Task Force has ramped up operations against illegal housing schemes. The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Enforcement Squad recently targeted Century Town, an unauthorized housing scheme in Mouza Bagga Sheikhan, demolishing three containers on site.

A spokesperson for the RDA confirmed that the operation in Century Town was supervised by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak, along with Director General (DG) RDA Kinza Murtaza, Additional DG RDA, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi, and Chief Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi.

DG RDA Kinza Murtaza emphasized that, under the Commissioner’s guidance, the crackdown on illegal housing societies will persist to prevent fraud and protect citizens from exploitation. She stressed the importance of addressing public complaints about illegal land occupation and assured strict measures against forceful land grabs.

The RDA regularly issues press releases to inform the public and advises against investing in illegal housing schemes. Citizens are encouraged to visit the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and engage only with approved housing schemes.

Despite previous warnings, the owners of these illegal schemes continued to operate booking offices in violation of regulations. The operation team included RDA officials and representatives from Police Station Rawat, with key members like Shiza Butt, Assistant Director Planning RDA, and RDA Scheme/Building Inspectors.
