CDA to Invite ICCI President to Upcoming Board Meeting

ISLAMABAD – In a move to address business community concerns, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has assured that Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi will be invited to its upcoming board meeting within the next seven days.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting at CDA headquarters, where Qureshi, leading an ICCI delegation, met with CDA Member Administration Talat Mehmood Gondal. The ICCI President raised critical issues, including tax escalations, business licensing hurdles, market infrastructure decline, and parking charges.

CDA officials, including Member Finance Naeem Tahir and DG Building Control Faisal Naeem, assured close coordination with ICCI to develop pragmatic solutions. The meeting followed an earlier engagement between Qureshi and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, who announced the formation of a joint working committee to resolve trade and industry challenges.

Prominent ICCI figures, including Chairman Founder Group Tariq Sadiq, Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, and President Industrial Area Association Shaikh Razzaq, endorsed Qureshi’s call for urgent corrective measures.

CDA’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with ICCI signals a positive shift toward pro-business reforms, fostering institutional accountability and economic growth.
