ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA), under the leadership of Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has emphasized bold actions to boost Islamabad’s environmental sustainability. During a recent high-level meeting with senior officers and experts, Chairman Randhawa called for coordinated efforts among stakeholders to enhance the city’s ecosystem.
The meeting highlighted the successful removal of paper mulberry trees, a major contributor to pollen allergies. This initiative has already resulted in a noticeable reduction in pollen count and improved air quality compared to the previous year. To further this progress, the CDA is actively replacing these trees with climate-friendly species to strengthen the city’s greenery and ensure a healthier environment for residents.
Chairman Randhawa stressed the importance of planting environment-friendly species and encouraged community involvement, including students, teachers, and the business sector, to drive this initiative.
These efforts showcase CDA’s commitment to creating a sustainable and eco-friendly Islamabad while enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
