ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its campaign against unauthorized housing societies, aiming to protect investors and enforce urban planning regulations.
During a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, officials decided to publish a list of illegal housing schemes in national newspapers and on the CDA website to enhance public awareness.
Key Actions:
- Ban on construction materials: Suppliers are prohibited from selling materials to unapproved societies.
- Legal consequences: Vendors must verify approved layout plans and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) before supplying materials.
- Fraud prevention: The crackdown targets housing schemes involved in illegal plot transfers and evasion of CDA transfer fees.
- Public awareness drive: Citizens are urged to verify society credentials via the CDA website or helpline before investing.
The initiative follows a surge in complaints about fraudulent housing schemes deceiving unsuspecting buyers. CDA officials stress that strict enforcement will ensure urban development compliance and protect investor interests.
