CDA Approves Phase-II of Margalla Enclave and Key Urban Projects

ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially approved Phase-II of Margalla Enclave, expanding Islamabad’s housing infrastructure with a 9,000-kanal development adjacent to Phase-I in Kuri.

Following the success of Margalla Enclave Phase-I, which was developed under a 55-45 joint venture with the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Phase-II will follow a public-private partnership model under Clause 42-F of the PPRA Rules. While CDA has yet to disclose its new development partner, officials assure that strict legal procedures and procurement rules will be followed.

Beyond housing, the CDA Board has approved major urban development projects, including a revised layout plan for Sector C-13, regularization of additional land in Sector I-8 Markaz, and graveyard planning for different communities. Infrastructure upgrades are also underway, with a comprehensive waterworks overhaul, improved electricity supply, and a monitoring mechanism to ensure efficiency.

Additionally, CDA has greenlit consultancy hires for key projects, including the Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) gallery expansion, the Child Protection Institute in Sector H-11/4, and the Police Academy in H-11. Plans to uplift the Diplomatic Enclave and develop a new shopping center have also been approved.

This initiative reflects Islamabad’s commitment to urban modernization, infrastructure development, and sustainable housing expansion.
