ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved two major water infrastructure projects worth Rs260 million to address long-standing water challenges in the federal capital. These initiatives were finalized during the 74th Development Working Party (CDA-DWP) meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The first project, with a budget of Rs248.989 million, will establish an external water supply network for the Model Prison at H-16, Islamabad. This effort will ensure uninterrupted access to clean drinking water for inmates and also benefit the neighboring Jinnah Medical Complex.
The second project, valued at Rs11 million, focuses on hiring advisory services for Islamabad Water—a newly created utility managing water and sewerage services in the city. The funds will be used to provide technical expertise during its transition phase to optimize operational efficiency and improve service delivery.
These projects highlight CDA’s commitment to enhancing Islamabad’s infrastructure and meeting the growing demands of its population.
