CDA Achieves Record Rs25 Billion Development Spending

ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has set a new benchmark by spending a record Rs25 billion on development projects during the current fiscal year. This achievement highlights Islamabad’s focus on infrastructure, beautification, and public welfare, even amidst financial challenges.

The milestone was disclosed during a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The session reviewed the authority’s financial standing, revenue streams, and progress on ongoing projects. Randhawa emphasized the importance of financial independence and directed departments to prioritize timely completion of development and tourism projects.

To enhance financial recovery, a Special Recovery Unit has been established under the supervision of Member Finance. The CDA also plans to conduct a comprehensive survey of leased properties, take legal action against defaulters, and develop new revenue-generation strategies for the next fiscal year.

These measures aim to ensure the financial sustainability of the CDA while maintaining the rapid pace of development in Islamabad.
