Azerbaijan Plans $2 Billion Investment in Pakistan’s Infrastructure

ISLAMABAD – Azerbaijan is set to make a groundbreaking $2 billion investment in Pakistan’s economy, focusing on infrastructure, petroleum, trade, and IT sectors. This development comes as Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev prepares to visit Pakistan on April 26-27 to finalize key agreements.

Azerbaijan’s proposed projects include $500 million for the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) and M-9 infrastructure development. The petroleum sector will also benefit, with plans for a $300 million investment, potentially featuring an oil refinery in Badin and support for the White Pipeline project.

Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister, Mikayil Jabbarov, is scheduled to visit Pakistan next week to discuss further opportunities for economic collaboration. Both nations aim to enhance bilateral relations, leveraging these investments to bolster Pakistan’s economy and improve connectivity.

This partnership signals a new chapter in economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, paving the way for sustainable development and mutual prosperity.
